I love the simplicity of the tree and the fun elements--monkeys!!
I made this tree (http://hannahleeme.blogspot.com/2011/10/tree-project.html) with my students, and through the project, I got to meet many good people. One of my good friend (http://saynoodle.com/) thought of me after seeing your tree, and gave me your link.

Thank you so much for sharing great ideas!artismehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14902963769623589023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-78729906238925786302012-04-16T09:08:11.584-05:002012-04-16T09:08:11.584-05:00I am often flummoxed by internet people saying the...I am often flummoxed by internet people saying they can't do this and they can't possibly learn how. The idea of a tutorial on how to lower your sewing machine pressure foot sends me to the psych ward in my mind.
I then thank my lucky stars to have had parents who made things work out, who taught me how to find out how to make things work out and the ability to teach my own kids never to say, "never". Or the dreaded words said in a whine, "I can't".
Instead, I taught my kids how to whine properly so they could laugh at themselves.

For measuring purposes, I am always involved in at least three projects at one time - from difficult - will take weeks/months to complete (re-upholstering that chair) to simpler - (obtaining the first book of the Hunger Games w/o paying for it).

Congratulations on being asked to do the Family Fun thing.kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13468763091074811797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-37200354664690053242012-04-16T06:22:58.512-05:002012-04-16T06:22:58.512-05:00I absolutely think you should start ranking your p...I absolutely think you should start ranking your projects according to Nutella sandwiches. Priceless.

I am also continually amazed by the boundless creativity of your girls, and I think you should feel very satisfied with the way you've taught them to think unconventionally. The build-your-own-tree-complete-with-removable-dangly-monkeys is NOT something most kids would have the creative resources to do. I tip my hat to you (all). Or maybe you'd prefer a couple of Nutella sandwiches? ;)Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11520014472349180595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-79339101431222432392012-04-15T19:35:17.775-05:002012-04-15T19:35:17.775-05:00how cute...

We've barely even started and look at this place!! Dad will be here any minute, how are we going to hide this mess?!?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-52200257090547100972012-04-15T09:46:57.790-05:002012-04-15T09:46:57.790-05:00"infested" with monkeys;I like that. However, the kid in me gets insanely excited by your crafts, so I love looking at what you do.

I measure my projects more on how much I have to pay attention. That's why I like to have some complicated and some simple projects on tap depending on how sleep-deprived or tired I am.Margohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16345165456341197559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-38912510554546301462012-04-14T19:43:21.474-05:002012-04-14T19:43:21.474-05:00Oh la la! Child-directed crafting is my favorite - which is probably why most of the crafts on my blog (and in my house) would be classified as very simple :)MaryAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13253503049272771754noreply@blogger.com
