We have very few days in Central Texas where we need a heavy coat, so a lined fleece would be just about the right weight for my kiddo. For us, this would be a winter coat.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-25267968586589813722011-07-21T11:06:28.521-05:002011-07-21T11:06:28.521-05:00I wish I could wear Lands' End shoes, because ...I wish I could wear Lands' End shoes, because they're so cute. I think I'd line mine with flannel. But even with the lining, it would be a fall coat in these parts. In the real winter, we'd have to walk around wearing a portable space heater strapped to ourselves, wouldn't we?LiErhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13022645291278425282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-46101223216700919982011-07-21T08:53:25.184-05:002011-07-21T08:53:25.184-05:00Oooo, I wish I was skilled enough to sew this with...Oooo, I wish I was skilled enough to sew this without a pattern or sample to trace. A year ago I realized my daughter didn't have any fall-weight outer things so I made something in one naptime -- just a drop-sleeve hoodie with big buttons but a fun print. She wore that to death.
This year I plan on going a step further and lining the polyester fleece with sweatshirt knit for more warmth and a bit more longevity through the of winter where she'll only be in the car. I love unventing stuff in the store or in catalogs because it helps me feel like my kids still look current in their homemade clothes.Reeninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540761711646097949.post-82127944781260101612011-07-21T07:39:13.933-05:002011-07-21T07:39:13.933-05:00This is a very lovely coat for a girl! I even planned to make it with a fleece fabric, I think it's not only less expensive, it's also washable and therefore easier to keep clean.

I ralised that many garments in stores aren't lined, maybe to save production costs?

I look forward to see the finished coat!
