What I'm Reading This Week

The expression on the face of the boy on the right says it all.

I can't wait to actually build some, but I'm busy with sewing projects now, and being outside a lot. So for now, I'm just reading and coveting and planning.

I'm also faced with my annual summer dilemma:
  1. Sew and craft more because the light is so much better (than icky winter) for photographs for the blog                  OR
  2. Sew and craft less because the light is so much better for playing outside and going on adventures with other, small humans.

I'm leaning deliciously towards (2). What about you?

  2. best would probably be a the perfect mix of those two options.
guess, there's no perfect answer/solution for this dilemma (if you can even call it like that).

  3. What about sewing later because you can in the evening after being outside or starting a portable project you can take on adventures with you - crochet is good!

  6. Oh wow, I envy your kids. Those look like a blast!

Selfish me is leaning more towards 1, but 2 sounds nicer for you all.

  7. haha - I've never let bad light and bad photographs stop me from posting to my blog :) But I am primarily trying to make things and then keep a record of it, not trying to keep things looking good in blog land.

I'm jealous of your weather - we're getting moldy over here from all the rain.

  9. #2 for sure! After our dark, rainy winter I'm all for playing outside, especially since my sewing room is in the basement. I like to craft with my kids outside during summer break. Especially stuff involving paint and glue because it doesn't get on the floor just on the grass.

  10. That book looks like the perfect birthday gift for my 12 y.o. grandson. I'll have to check out what the age recommendations are. Thanks for sharing that! Enjoy the sun, it will rain again soon enough!

  11. Both, of course! Cardboard crafting (and/or model car making & testing, playhouse building, etc., etc.) outdoors with the kids. Sewing later in the evening when it's too late for the kids to be playing outside even if it IS still light out. ;)
