I made the girls some new skirts last week.
They're wraparound skirts
that are a little bit messy in the back.
The girls wore them out in the garden today
and morphed
into butterflies
or fairies
or butterfly-fairies
or whatever.
And flew.
Whee!
Breaking it down for you in the next post -
see you then!
P.S. No park today - blah weather. We stayed home to bake cookies - and blog, of course. Bah.
Wonderful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour winged skirts are beautiful! I just love your work. I not long ago found your blog and as someone who is new to the art of sewing, have found much inspiration from your work. I recently bought your patterns for the owie doll and toadstool and made my daughter the owie doll for her birthday. She is 2 and just loves 'Suzie'. Thank you for the inspiration and sharing your wonderful designs.
ReplyDeleteJust now that your ideas are bringing joy to many children all across the world.
cudne są te motylkowe spódniczki :) świetny pomysł!
ReplyDeletethis just totally rocked my world! I CANNOT wait for the tutorial on this!!! AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the park - but cookies are great!

You are fabulous, when I first saw the skirts I thought there must be more to them than first appeared and bam there you go!
ReplyDeleteI so hope your kids realise what a fabulous childhood they are having!
Why aren't you my mother......
Oh, how FUN!! And beautiful! I bet the skirts encourage some good exercise, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI was right?! I feel so pleased =)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the breakdown on how to make these!
Those are fantastic. Any little girl would love a skirt like that for dress-up. Impractical? Yes. Awesome? Double yes.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those are adorable! Seeing the youngest running through the grass reminds me on something that happened last week. My husband was visiting someone and the 6yo boy was on the deck and wanted to come in the grass. He didn't have his shoes on so he didn't think he could come in the grass barefoot. He had NEVER walked on grass barefoot! Egads.
ReplyDeleteYou. Are. So. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI am nearly speechless with amazement.
That's all.
So cute! What a fab idea!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make something like that. My daughters saw those new skirts like that in the Barbie isle and went nuts over them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're gonna share how to make them!
@Cole's Corner
ReplyDeleteYes! That's where we saw them at Target and they were horrible and plasticky and stiff and Emily (6 year old) wanted them but they would only fit a 3-year old. Plus they were $20 apiece. So we said we'd make our own. Plastic aside, it was such a clever design, wasn't it? We loved it, too.
ohh This so cute and beautiful - my English is not good engough to discribe - I like to make them at once- but I have boys And I don´t think I could talk them into them...and all kids in the near or far around us...all boys.... uhh...I think I have to made one for me...
ReplyDeleteSo neat, I know I want one just for myself! And it is so adorable to see your three little girls enjoying them so much in the pics.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I can´t believe how creative you are! Wish my daughter was four again. She might refuse wearing this at eleven :)
ReplyDeleteLove these skirts, this would be a great project to do for my nieces!!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!!!!! I just love them!
