I Made Half A Boot Today

This is not a good omen- Halloween is on Wednesday. And now I must stop mucking about in the sewing room and come upstairs to put supper on the table (how is still a mystery).  In the blink of an eye, it will be midnight and I'll not only still have that miserable half a boot but also an entire kitchen to clean up. And yes, I'm wearing my Superhero Costume today.

P.S. Did you notice that there are no photos in this post? This is the real deal, people.

P.P.S. Wonderful and strange: I am on Apartment Therapy today, promoting my favorite children's books. Which goes to show you that people can be absolutely falling apart and inefficient in reality and still appear as if they're on top of things. Bless you, folks at AT, for making me look good on a day like this :)

    1. Even easier- we had french toast! But yes, we love our grilled cheese, too. It's saved us from fancy suppers many, many nights.

  2. I "wasted" a lot of time cooking today, too. It remains to be seen if my efforts were worthwhile... guess we'd better eat.

P.S. Thanks for the book titles! I'll have to see if C's heard them or not.

  3. Here's something else to waste your time thinking about. You'll have to figure out on your own how to make it, because the linky that says "original source" doesn't lead anywhere. I googled it and came up with several other sites with similar ideas.

  4. Hang on in there. Hope the boots get done more quickly as you work through them :-)

  5. Understand...very well...your plight. Should I even be a bit happy that Hurricane Sandy might delay trick or treating and elongate prep-time?

  6. Jia you!

You got rice cooker or not? Here is an easy recipe for sticky chicken rice: Dump everything in there and turn it on. Dinner is done in 15 mins.

  7. One of my favorite cheap, easy and delicious dinners, is fried egg sandwiches. Toasted bread, butter, cheese and eggs over medium. Yum!
