Mass-Producing Is Fun

... especially when it involves Real Bag Fabric (not cotton falsely strengthened by interfacing),

Real Bag Straps (not cotton falsely strengthened by interfacing),

and hardware.

What ... you've never worked with cargo netting, nylon packcloth or grommets?
Tsk.
Well, then it looks like you'll need to come back here for the tutorial, doesn't it? See you soon - and bring a candle.

  1. My favorite fabric store is Rose City Textiles (fabricline.com) here in Portland. This is where I got all the materials and assorted strapping & cords to make the airplane cockpit cover and the luggage compartment for same plane. I got my grommets from a marine supply store here in portland as they hold up to the weather better.
Cannot wait for your bag post.

  4. I just saw that the cardboard collective is holding a cardboard costume contest between October 2nd and November 2nd and since that basically combines two of your greatest talents and obsessions I thought I would make sure you knew in good time.

    1. Hi Clare - thanks for letting me know! But was that for last year? If so, I was one of the judges. So fun. I must go ask Amber if she's doing it again in 2013. Maybe someone will make a cardboard squid outfit. That would be beyond cool.

    2. Eeek, wait! I went to Amber's blog to look and I think it IS for 2013! A brand new round! Shriek! Can't wait to see the entries! Especially the squid. So someone make it, quick. Not me, though. I'm up to my eyeballs in fabric this year. Again. Sad.
