We made this ice suncatcher this week.

The kids went a bit crazy with the food coloring. Found an
excuse to talk about Physics while adding the ice cubes to
the partially-frozen disc. Also discussed why it is plain
stupid to drive one's truck over the surface of a pond
early in the winter - a lesson I hope they remember
when they're teens.
We hung it on a tree in our yard so we could see
out the kitchen window when having breakfast.

ReplyDeleteI've been super slack on the fun craftivities like this lately, maybe I'll do this one. It's certainly cold enough outdoors to keep it frozen!
This almost makes me wish for it to get colder again so we can make these without them melting! Wish or no, I am sure the cold is coming back- now I won't be so sad!
