Prettyrellas

or, How To Make Stand-Up Beanbags

Years ago, I bought this Disney flannel-backed satin with plans to make something for Emily. It stayed in my stash until this year, when Kate became enamored with all things pwincess. I thought I'd finally dig it out and turn it into Prettyrella* beanbags.

It was a very quick project - cut each princess out, with generous seam allowance and identical backing pieces from leftover satin:

Then sew on bases in stiff, robust duckcloth

turn right side out, stuff with polyfill and poly beads

and we get stand-up beanbags. At about 5" high,
they are soft enough to cuddle with in bed, and
sturdy enough to stand up and enact the latest
daring pwincess wescue adventures.

*What Kate collectively calls all Disney princesses. Although she says it "Pwettywellas" now.

Alas, if only it stopped here. Tune in soon to see what happens when a simple idea goes out of control.
