A celebration of motherhood.
This is another variation on the Tail Extension permutation of the template.
Two additions: a front belly pouch and thigh-ed legs.
And the little joey, of course.
My girls squealed when they saw him. They like baby things, and mother-and-baby pairings make them go all soft and sighy.
He's shaped like his momma,
but tiny.
This kangaroo wasn't even in the original list. One day, I was thinking, "Babies. Mini versions of softies. Pockets to store them. Hm." And suddenly I had to make her :)
Oh my goodness. This is my favorite now
ReplyDeleteOoooohhh, gosh.... I think I have a new favorite!! How will I ever decide what to make first?!
ReplyDeleteThis one is my fav!
ReplyDeleteEEEEE! How cute!

They are adorable! I love all the animals but I think this is my favorite! This or the peacock.
ReplyDeleteI love them all!! Specially the dragon and bunny!!! Can't wait until you release the pattern!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot wait until you offer the pattern for sell.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I want a baby joey and a momma kangaroo now!
ReplyDeleteI honestly do not think I can handle any more of the cute. Can hardly wait for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteMom and baby pairings make me go all soft and squishy, too. These are adorable!
ReplyDeleteWould they still stand on their own if I made the tail curl upwards?
MaryAnne: the basic template (without the tail) stands/sits on its own and leans forward slightly, so anything attached to the back of the animal will probably add to its stability. I haven't had the time to try a curling-up tail e.g. a squirrel's (even though that was on the non-short-list), but I'm guessing that it will probably work unless the tail itself is so large that it's heavier than the actual body.
DeleteForgot to discuss the joey: I'm not sure about a curling-up tail. If it curves up slightly, I think it will still stay upright as a whole. I'm not sure about a fully-upright tail, though, like a squirrel's. It'll be fun to find out!
DeleteI can't handle the cuteness of this one!
ReplyDeleteLove it. And being Australian I can see a Koala with a baby on its back...more mummy/baby cuteness!
